Please tell the voters about yourself including your background and qualifications.
Live in Gillette 48 of my 55 years. I’ve worked in the coal industry for 30 yrs. 20 of that in management responsible for large work force and large budgets. Served in this community in various volunteer roles and have owned several businesses in the past and currently have a business that my wife manages.
What are the biggest challenges and opportunities facing Wyoming today? As a legislator, how would you address them?
Biggest challenges/opportunities in Wyo is responsible economic development. A lot of big projects, data centers processing plants want to build in Wyo. I am for diversification but it needs to make economic sense and protections need to be in place for our communities.
We asked WyoFile readers to rank issues that are important to them, and healthcare costs and access topped the list. What can the Legislature do to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to Wyomingites?
There is only one health care insurance provider in Wyoming. We need to work at getting more options for the people of Wyoming. Free market competition should lower prices.
Do you support efforts to sell or transfer public land in Wyoming? How do you plan to ensure that state and federal land is managed in the best interest of the people of Wyoming?
No. Public needs to stay public. We need to make sure the federal and state agencies in Wyoming are held accountable and make sure they are staffed properly to do the job.
No two Wyoming counties are the same when it comes to how they generate revenue. As a legislator, how would you approach the public's desire for property tax relief with local revenue needs?
We need to revisit the SF69 of 2025 that targeted a reduction of 50% on the increase between 2020-2024 which was a time period of very in inflation on home Assessments. The blanket approach does work. Voters in Wy don’t only want but desire strategic and permanent tax relief while still protecting essential services.
What role, if any, should the Wyoming Legislature play in economic development?
Providing attractive infrastructure. Set up regulations and policies that hold companies accountable.
Explain your values when it comes to campaign donations. Does Wyoming's system for monitoring campaign donations and expenditures need reform?
I think it is adequate.
