On the Issues
The answers below were solicited from candidates via a written questionnaire created by WyoFile reporters and editors in June 2026. Responses are presented exactly as submitted, without fact-checking, wordsmithing or editing for grammar, punctuation or spelling errors.
Legislative candidates were invited to respond to the questionnaire several times by email and by phone. Out of fairness to the candidates who met the deadline, WyoFile will not add responses after the guide's publication.
Where do you live currently? How long have you lived there? How long have you lived in Wyoming? Where were you born?
Reid Rasner currently lives in Casper and was born there.
What age will you be on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2026?
42
Please tell the voters about yourself including your background and qualifications.
Reid Rasner is a Wyoming businessman, wealth manager, and conservative leader dedicated to strengthening the Cowboy State. His work ethic began at age 13 when he swept floors at Wyoming Glass, saving his earnings to buy his first bike and learning the value of hard work, responsibility, and financial independence. By 16, he was investing in the stock market, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to entrepreneurship and economic growth.
A graduate of Natrona County High School and the University of Wyoming, Reid has spent his career helping veterans, ranchers, first responders, teachers, and families achieve financial security. Deeply rooted in Wyoming values, he is committed to supporting small businesses, promoting responsible economic policies, protecting Wyoming’s heritage, and creating greater opportunity for future generations. Reid brings a Wyoming-first approach focused on strong leadership, service, and results.
What are the biggest challenges and opportunities facing Wyoming today? What would you do as a federal lawmaker to address them?
Lower Taxes: Reid will fight to reduce taxes on Wyoming families and businesses so they can keep more of what they earn. Secure the Border: Reid supports strong border security, enforcing immigration laws, and protecting our communities. Fiscal Responsibility: Reid will cut wasteful spending, reduce government inefficiency, and support balanced budgets. Protect Property Rights: Reid will stand against federal overreach and defend the rights of Wyoming landowners. Put Wyoming Workers First: Reid supports policies that protect American jobs, strengthen local industries, and stop outsourcing. Trusted Leadership: Reid will provide principled, Wyoming-first leadership focused on freedom, opportunity, and a stronger future for the Cowboy State.
We asked WyoFile readers to rank issues that are important to them, and healthcare costs and access topped the list. What can Congress do to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to Wyomingites?
Congress can make healthcare more affordable and accessible in Wyoming by focusing on common-sense reforms that put patients and local doctors first.
This includes ensuring rural doctors and hospitals get paid fairly so they can stay open and serve our communities, instead of closing or forcing patients to drive hours for care.
We should open up more insurance choices so families can pick plans that actually fit their needs and budgets, while protecting people with preexisting conditions and keeping coverage when they change jobs.
How willing are you to compromise with legislators and other officials with different perspectives?
As long as they are America First, Reid Rasner will work with them to find common ground, reach principled compromises, and build the strongest, most prosperous America possible for our families, workers, and future generations.
The Wind River Indian Reservation is home to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes. How will you represent tribal interests in Washington?
Reid will work with Tribes to ensure the federal government can effectively communicate and work with them on key issues.
Nearly half of the land in Wyoming is managed by the federal government. As a member of Congress, how do you plan to ensure that land is managed in the best interest of the people of Wyoming?
Reid Rasner has proposed a bold, common-sense policy to increase Wyoming’s share of federal mineral royalty revenues from Bureau of Land Management lands, ensuring more of the money generated from our own natural resources stays right here in Wyoming. The additional revenue would be directed toward vital public services that matter most to our communities—including strengthening education, building critical infrastructure, supporting local governments, and enhancing public safety. Supporters rightly argue this reform delivers a fairer deal for Wyoming by retaining more resource revenue in-state, putting local control first and investing in our schools, roads, counties, and families instead of sending Wyoming’s wealth to Washington bureaucrats.
How would you rate the Trump administration’s approach to immigration since the start of 2025? How can Congress improve immigration policy for the benefit of Wyoming citizens?
47/10. Reid Rasner strongly believes Congress must fully fund ICE and DHS to secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws. He will fight tirelessly in Washington to protect our dedicated immigration law enforcement officers and continue ending the reign of harmful open-border policies that have strained communities, overwhelmed services, and compromised public safety. Reid is committed to restoring law and order, prioritizing American workers and Wyoming values, and ensuring strong, effective border security for our nation.
