On the Issues
↑ TopThe answers below were solicited from candidates via a written questionnaire created by WyoFile reporters and editors in June 2026. Responses are presented exactly as submitted, without fact-checking, wordsmithing or editing for grammar, punctuation or spelling errors.
Legislative candidates were invited to respond to the questionnaire several times by email and by phone. Out of fairness to the candidates who met the deadline, WyoFile will not add responses after the guide's publication.
Where do you live currently? How long have you lived there? How long have you lived in Wyoming? Where were you born?
I have lived in WY for over 20 years. I was born in Alabama and my parents were Christian Missionaries.
What age will you be on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2026?
46
Please tell the voters about yourself including your background and qualifications.
My family and I have called Wyoming home for more than 20 years. We raised our four daughters and built our small business here. As a small business owner and mother, I know how to meet a budget, make tough decisions, and plan for the future. I’ve worked to expose waste and abuse in government and challenged powerful interests to defend access to public lands. I’m running for governor to give Wyoming voters a conservative choice. I am taking on two Democrat opponents, unfortunately one of them is in the Republican field.
Wyoming’s Legislature holds the state’s purse strings, but the governor drafts the budget and has the ability to veto line-items from the final product. What areas of the budget does the state need to scale back? And in what areas would you like to see greater funding?
I would review grants, subsidized loans, boards, commissions, and economic development programs particularly those in the 900 series where all the consultant fees are hidden. Taxpayers should know what each program actually does. I would also ask agencies to identify duplicative work. My budget would prioritize public safety, roads, water infrastructure, and schools.. I would find the 13M dollars to move families off the 3 year wait list for the medicaid waiver program.
How, within the framework of a governor’s powers and duties, would you address the biggest challenges and opportunities facing Wyoming today?
I would build on what the people of Wyoming do well: produce energy, raise livestock, and grow businesses. As governor, I would appoint agency leaders who share that priority, demand timely and consistent permitting, and propose a budget that puts essential services first. I would defend Wyoming’s water rights and access to public lands. Where a change requires legislation, I would bring lawmakers a specific proposal and work to pass it.
Do you support efforts to sell or transfer public land in Wyoming? How do you plan to ensure that state and federal land is managed in the best interest of the people of Wyoming?
No - I would use the governor’s role on the State Board of Land Commissioners to press for responsible management of state land and better access wherever the law allows.
Wyoming is home to dozens of data center proposals. Who should decide on the fate of such proposals? As governor, what role should you play?
Local communities should decide local land use questions. State agencies must enforce water, environmental, utility, and siting requirements. My role as governor would be to make sure decisions are transparent and the rules are applied consistently.
What is the state's proper role in economic/business development, and how do you propose creating the types of jobs and community services that retain and attract workers?
The state should provide reliable infrastructure, clear rules, timely permitting, and training that connects Wyoming workers with jobs. It should not pick winners through grants or subsidized loans while a local business owner has to compete without special help. I would audit those programs and publish their results.
How willing are you to compromise with elected officials with different perspectives?
I will listen to anyone with a serious idea, regardless of party or whether we agree on other issues. A governor has to work with the Legislature to get results. I will be clear about my priorities, hear objections, and look for solutions we can explain to Wyoming voters. I will not agree to a deal that gives away Wyoming’s water rights, restricts public access, or spends taxpayer money on the well connected.
We asked WyoFile readers to rank issues that are important to them, and healthcare costs and access topped the list. What should the governor do to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to Wyomingites?
One of the major issues with rural hospitals is illegal immigrants showing up, getting care and walking away from the bill. As Governor, I will enforce the laws of the land.
