On the Issues

The answers below were solicited from candidates via a written questionnaire created by WyoFile reporters and editors in June 2026. Responses are presented exactly as submitted, without fact-checking, wordsmithing or editing for grammar, punctuation or spelling errors.

Legislative candidates were invited to respond to the questionnaire several times by email and by phone. Out of fairness to the candidates who met the deadline, WyoFile will not add responses after the guide's publication.

Where do you live currently? How long have you lived there? How long have you lived in Wyoming? Where were you born?

I was born in Riverton, WY and grew up on the ranch in Northwestern Natrona County. I still reside there today.

What age will you be on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2026?

69

Please tell the voters about yourself including your background and qualifications.

I am a third generation rancher in Natrona County and I started an oilfield construction business in 2001. I have served on numerous boards and commissions over the years. I served on the Natrona Co Fire Protection District for 14 years as well as a Natrona Co Commissioner for 16 years. Over the years I have gained valuable knowledge about business and the private sector as well as the knowledge of how government works and the Legislative process. Having lobbied for the WY Stock Growers Assn, the WY County Commissioners Assn and the WY Business Alliance, this has given be the background and knowledge of how to get things done.

What are the biggest challenges and opportunities facing Wyoming today? As a legislator, how would you address them?

The biggest challenges include jobs, the economy, affordable housing, healthcare and funding for local governments. For the opportunities, there are a number of businesses that are interested in moving to our state. We need to continue to improve on our legacy industries so they continue to thrive. We need to welcome new industries and business technologies into the state. To attract them, we need to reduce some of the regulations so they will be able to produce the jobs that will keep our kids here and let our economy grow. As far as housing, the Legislature and counties need to make it easier for housing development across the state.

We asked WyoFile readers to rank issues that are important to them, and healthcare costs and access topped the list. What can the Legislature do to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to Wyomingites?

Healthcare is a very complex issue. We need to try and attract more insurance companies to come to the state. Some of the problems in healthcare are the lack of nurses and doctors practicing in the state. By funding those nursing programs in our local schools it will help keep kids in the state and increase the number of health care providers.

Do you support efforts to sell or transfer public land in Wyoming? How do you plan to ensure that state and federal land is managed in the best interest of the people of Wyoming?

We shouldn’t sell the public lands however implementing trades in certain areas makes sense. Over the year, Wyoming has been a good steward of the state lands. Wyoming should have more of a say in management of federal lands. We can manage them better locally.

No two Wyoming counties are the same when it comes to how they generate revenue. As a legislator, how would you approach the public's desire for property tax relief with local revenue needs?

Property tax relief comes at a cost to education, local governments and special districts. At a state level, we need to figure out a way to back fill the cities and counties so they may continue to provide services to the public. Reducing taxes is great in theory but it comes at a cost to all the services we are accustomed to and enjoy; Law enforcement, fire protection, roads, parks.

What role, if any, should the Wyoming Legislature play in economic development?

The Legislature should continue to fund economic development programs like those of the WY Business Council and work together with the local county development programs throughout the state. Ie Cheyenne LEADS, Advance Casper and others.

Explain your values when it comes to campaign donations. Does Wyoming's system for monitoring campaign donations and expenditures need reform?

I have no problem in receiving money from people, groups and Pacs that I am aligned with. I believe, as candidates, we should list our donations and expenditures. I don’t believe there is any need for reform.
